But do you really have to choose just one? At the recently held Carrier Home Design Studio, the Carrier Slim gives homeowners and designers the best of both worlds.

From September 18 to 20, Carrier hosted its Home Design Studio at Uptown Mall, BGC. There, designed room areas showcased how the aircon made its presence felt, however subtly, into the interior design of one’s home. 

At the launch event, Phillip Trapaga, President of Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditioning Company (CCAC), shared that one’s aircon unit was an important point of consideration for homeowners looking to apply their personal preferred aesthetic to their home:

Times have changed and people now beautify their houses. They want their appliances in there to match. The 4HP was introduced about a year and half ago. Today, listening to consumers, they said ‘I like to put it in my condominium or a small part of my house. Does it come in different capacities?’ Hence, we launched 2.5HP and 3HP.

Regarded for their expert opinions, Carrier brought in Anton Barretto, TV Host of Metro Home and Senior Partner at ADesign, and interior stylist Marilen Montenegro to weigh in on the matter.

Both agreed that while optimizing the use of available space is a natural part of the design process, what was more interesting was the placement of one’s aircon during the early planning phase becoming a critical decision.

Barretto shared: “For me, it needs to be considered as early as planning the walls of your house. Because when you think of the aircon and where you’ll place it, it follows that you think about piping, compressors, and electrical layout.”

Montenegro added, “You have to think about things like the ceiling height of the space, how many square meters it is, and from there, how much horsepower would then be needed to cool it.”

At the event, two interactive room setups were created which integrated the Carrier Slim Floor-Standing Aircon into their designs. The goal was to give guests an idea of how the aircon might fit nicely into a home, whether it was for an interior designer or architect’s client or for one’s personal use.

All three variations of the Carrier Slim—the new 2.5HP and 3.0HP models, and the existing 4.0HP model—were on display with furniture pieces from Fashion Interiors. The design and placement variety truly showed how the Carrier Slim could fit seamlessly into any space imaginable.
